YORKTON - The city has received a Development Permit application for a Residential Care Facility use in both sides of a semi-detached dwelling (side-by-side duplex) located at 560 Circlebrooke Drive.

A Residential Care Facility is a Discretionary Use in the R3 Medium Density Residential zone and Council consideration following the Discretionary Use Process is required, explained Carleen Koroluk – Land Use Planner with the City at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday.

“The semi-detached dwelling is situated on one legal lot and the applicant proposes to utilize both units for its proposed use, with each side providing daily care for a maximum of five individuals (newborn to 11 years of age),” said Koroluk. “The use is consistent with the residential character of the neighbourhood.”

With Council’s approval of the administration recommendation the Development Permit application proceeds to Public Notification.
