The senior badminton team at Sacred Heart High School attended regional badminton playoffs at Notre Dame in Wilcox this past Saturday.
"The competition was great and the games fierce," says Sacred Heart coach Jim Grela.
The mixed doubles team of Emily Kruger and Preston Liebrecht finished third in their pool and did not advance. The girls doubles team of Brianna Ostafie and Eilish Stranaghan finished second in their pool, advancing to the semi-finals. They ended up placing fourth overall, losing a closely battled match to Esterhazy. The boys doubles team of Anthony Fetsch and Dylan Johnson also finished second in their pool. "Dylan Johnson had some of his best playing at regionals, but the boys doubles still missed out and placed fourth," closed Grela.
