Over the weekend of Jan. 20 and 21, the annual Yorkton Cash Bowling Tournament was held at the Yorkton Bowl Arena.
There were 45 people who entered the tournament of all ages. The tournament was open to anyone in the province who wanted to attend.
It was a five-game qualifying tournament, with the top score advancing.
The winner of the tournament was Kevin Clark, who bowled 888 in the final against Taylor McCaw, who bowled 788.
McCaw and his douvles partner Joel Mamchur took first place in the Scotch Doubles event.
Kristy Schafer was one of the tournament directors, and she said the turn out was great.
“The talent is amazing, from young to old. There were kids from the youth bowling who attended and people like Kevin Clark who has been bowling for 40+ years. The best of the best are here,” she said.
Schafer also said the tournament couldn’t have been what it was without the sponsors.
“ReMax was our major sponsor, as well as the Painted Hand Casino. With them sponsoring us, we can be 100% prize out money to the winners,” she said.
Stacy Neufeld attended the tournament as a representative from ReMax Blue Chip Realty.
“ReMax Blue Chip Realty is happy to be a sponsor of the Yorkton Cash Bowling Tournament. It’s the second annual and we’re really excited to be able to give back to the community, and to be part of the community,” she said.
This year, winner Kevin Clark received almost $1000 as the top prize, with smaller cash awards also going out to other top spots in the tournament.
