Members of the Preeceville Curling Club met for an informal organizational meeting on September 2.
The club executive and members discussed numerous topics related to the start up for the new season. The club is replacing the fi re escape at the back of the rink and is scheduled to get some quotes for both wood and steel and will go from there.
“We will be renting out the rink again to anyone interested. The contact person is Sharon Bileski. Rental prices will be the same as last year,” said Lynn Ager, secretary.
The club discussed hiring a new icemaker as Corwin Tonn won’t be doing it this year. The club will have an informational table at the town’s information and registration night on Sept 8.
“We will be doing our ice sponsors again. Anyone interested in having his or her business or name on the ice can contact any of the executive. We will also be sending out letters to the businesses,” said Ager.
Sheldon Luciw will be going to the recreation board meeting as the rep for the curling rink.
The club will be having a raffle this year as a fundraiser.
