Darius Haberstock and Grey McKen spent the May long weekend in Saskatoon as part of the Rider Bowl.

The Roughrider Bowl is an intensive 2 1/2 day camp to support the development of Saskatchewan's top returning high school football players.

Haberstock and McKen were the representation of the Yorkton Regional High School that made the trip to Griffiths Stadium (University of Saskatchewan), to participate.

"I learned new ways of tackling," insists McKen.

"I learned back-pedalling, covering receivers," adds his YRHS teammate Haberstock.

According to the Saskatchewan Football web site, the players involved in the camp were in pretty good hands.

The provinces elite coaches and Football Saskatchewan's representatives invited the top 100 U18 players from the eight regional Skill Identification camps to the Roughrider Bowl. During the Bowl, players receive instruction from Saskatchewan's four post-secondary teams and an opportunity to meet the province's top players.

"It was a good experience," says McKen. "They showed us a lot of coverage."

"I did a lot that I didn't know before," adds Haberstock.

The Rider Bowl has been going on for a long time, they both said and they both "could go back next year" too.
