On April 24, the Sacred Heart badminton team hosted the YRHS in city playoffs for senior badminton.
There were many tough matches with extremely competitive play. The Sacred Heart team took seven out of the 10 available spots for advancing to districts.
In girls' singles, Brittany Brenzen defeated Brandi Blahut (both YRHS) in three games to place first.
In boys' singles, Darren Tillman (YRHS) beat Justin Poirier of Sacred Heart to place first.
In girls' doubles, Brianna Ostafie and Eilish Stranaghan beat Kaitlin Inglis and Allison Kruger (Sacred Heart) in three games to place first.
In boys' doubles it was the Sacred Heart teams of Anthony Fetsch/Dylan Johnson beating Nathan Guy/Justin Pellat to take first place.
Also in mixed doubles, it was Emily Kruger/Preston Liebrecht (Sacred Heart) over Riana Skikewich/Justin Guy in three games.
These players now advance to district playoffs scheduled for this week at the YRHS.
