The Yorkton Minor Football Association's (YMFA) youngest age group won a huge game.
They finished this season at 5-2.
They finished last season at 1-7.
They finished this season by winning a Bowl game.
Coach Steve Variyan described the high-scoring contest as more of a "track meet".
"Whoever scored last won the game, basically," he said after Yorkton pounded out 68 points in a win over the Regina Kats.
"It was just back and forth" all game long, he said.
"We score, they score, we score"
He said every point that was scored was answered back by the other team right up until the final minute-and-a-half of the fourth quarter when Yorkton came up with one of the very few three-and-outs of the football game, said Variyan.
"We hadn't been able to do that all game long!"
Garion Miller and Dylan Lepowick helped lead the offensive attack in terms of touchdowns.
"They got the ball back right after but the (Yorkton) defence held it together."
"The game changer winning touchdown was by Jordin Rusnack," he added.
Also of note, the Atoms have now held on late to beat the Regina Kats twice, with scoring totals hitting 100 on both occasions, explains Variyan.
"This is the same team we beat the first game of the season, same result, 52-48."
It was a track meet," he signed off.
