YORKTON - After ending an extended losing streak earlier in the week the Yorkton Terriers fell in Weyburn Saturday in their final contest before the SJHL Christmas break.

The host Red Wings started their seasonal festivities early scoring the only goal of the first period, a marker by Cade Meiklejohn at 2:49.

Max Monette made it 2-0 1:32 into the middle frame.

The Terriers then tried their Grinchy best to give the Wings some early coal as David Coyle scored at 12:09 and 13:21 to knot things headed to the third period.

But Santa seemed set on giving Weyburn fans a win and a goal by Tyler Teasdale at 16:23 edged the Wings ahead 3-2.

An empty net goal by Max Monette cemented a 4-2 win.

Angelo Zol earned the win in the Terrier net facing 34-shots.

Adam Kelly was tagged with the loss for the Terriers facing 33.

Headed to the break the Terriers sit with a record of 9-19-1-1 for 20 points and a spot in the Viterra Division basement, six points behind Melville.

Weyburn and Estevan share the lead in the Viterra with 28 points each.
