Yorkton Terriers take road win in Nipawin

YORKTON - The Yorkton Terriers were in Nipawin Friday where they grounded the hometown Hawks in SJHL action.

The Terriers started things with the only goal of the first period, a short-handed, unassisted effort by Brett Butz at 12:03.

Ronan Buckberger tied the game for the home side scoring at 7:50 on the second period.

Clay Sleeva gave Yorkton another one-goal lead at 9:47, with Jaron Desnoyers making it 3-1 at 13:01.

The Terriers extended the lead to 4-1 when Aiden Knutson scored at 5:01 in the third period.

Dalton Mayes scored his first of the season, a short-handed effort into an empty net at 17:05 to make it 5-1.

The Hawks would add one, a powerplay goal by Landon Pappas at 18:09.

Ethan Farrow earned the win in the Terrier bet facing 30-shots.

Damon Cunningham faced 28-shots in the loss for the Hawks.

Up next the Terriers play Melfort in and SJHL Showcase game in Warman today (Wednesday, Nov. 15), then face Nipawin Thursday,  and the face Melfort again Saturday this one in the Mustangs barn.
