The boards of directors of the Kamsack Credit Union, which had branches in Togo, Pelly and Norquay, and an agency in Arran, the Affinity Credit Union, an operation of 14 branches including those in Saskatoon and Regina, and Eastshore Credit Union, which was an organization comprised of three branches based in Strasbourg, were proposing to their respective memberships the merger of their organizations effective January 1.

From July 18 to 25, members of the 4-H clubs in Kamsack and Sturgis traveled to Buckley Valley, near Smithers, B.C. on a youth exchange trip.

Susan Joseph (Vogel) of Jindabyne, Australia visited her mother Virginia and George Strukoff and attended the Pelly centennial celebrations. Also spending time visiting and enjoying the centennial weekend were Virginia’s son Dennis, wife Pat and children Brett, Tyler, Scott and Colin Vogel of Martensville.
