Dinosaurs and rock music come together in Outlook

Dino fossils and rock music came together in the Irrigation Capital for a weekend event.

OUTLOOK - If you're a lover of dinosaurs and hard rock music, then the Heritage Centre in Outlook was where you wanted to be earlier this month.

The not-every-day combination was on hand on Saturday, July 6 for visitors who wanted to drop on by for some good tunes and a chance to see up close some eye-catching dinosaur fossils and impressive finds.

It was all courtesy of the Diefenbaker Dino Hunters, together with Dinosty Fossils and the Adventure Wranglers, who set up shop in three locations over the course of July 5-14 in Outlook, Elbow, and down at the Sandy Shores Resort by Lake Diefenbaker. From July 5-7, Outlook was the destination for the Dino Hunters, who provided three days of fossil showings that were free of charge for anyone interested to go check it out. As well, on July 6, Outlook rockers Bad Influence played a show at the Heritage Centre as part of the weekend event, providing a solid soundtrack to the fossil surroundings.

From July 12-14, the red roof church in Elbow provided daily reptile and dinosaur shows courtesy of the Adventure Wranglers, and Dinosty Fossils exhibited real dinosaur bones and provided education on how such treasures are found.

Wherever people took in the events, the Dino Hunters 'Rock Week' proved to be a hit with attendees in Outlook and the surrounding Lake Diefenbaker region.
