OUTLOOK - The newest offering of works on the walls of the Outlook Art Gallery is paying tribute to music.
With the latest showing by artist Janet Gross, entitled 'Musical Echoes', showcasing vintage pianos, it provides a different way to appreciate musical instruments through the imagery they can create in addition to the sound they can produce.
As an artist who's always loved creating, Gross got into woodworking and furniture and cabinet making in order to restore things and to create replicas. This work that's currently on display in Outlook works with recycled piano parts to create scrimshaw miniatures with the keys and eye-catching characters with pieces from the interior mechanisms.
Visitors will have to check out the gallery themselves to witness the different themes that emerge from the newest showing.
'Musical Echoes' is on display at the art gallery until January 30.
