OUTLOOK - Wednesday evenings are for interesting visitors and cool learning experiences down in the Outlook & District Regional Park this summer.
As part of its Wild Wednesdays programming hosted in the performance bowl, the park hosted Mikayla from the Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation facility in Saskatoon on the evening of July 31, who spoke about birds of prey with an audience of kids and adults.
Producing sets of wings and talons from a number of birds, including owls and hawks, the kids got an up-close-and-personal look at the inner workings of the animals they may see in the sky during the summertime and learned all they could about how the birds live and operate, including what they eat and how they may hunt it.
As well, Mikayla had a furry friend along with her for the trip to the Outlook park, as Horace the rabbit came out of his cage so that the kids could take turns petting him.
The park continues its summer programming on a weekly basis each Wednesday, as well as its Art in the Park series every Tuesday, where participants engage in activities such as painting, needle felting, and constructing floral window hangers.
