OUTLOOK - With the regular season having come to a close for the Sask Valley Hockey League recently, the league announced their annual award winners for the 2024-25 season last week.
The league's MVP award was given to Loreburn's Brady Norrish, and the honour was well earned, with Norrish scoring 26 points in 16 games this season, helping the Loreburn 19ers to a 10-7-0-1 record that was good for 3rd Place in the SVHL's east division.
Delisle player Brant Wiebe took the Top Scorer award with 49 points earned (16 goals, 33 assists) in 16 games, and Wiebe also collected the Gentlemanly with Ability award.
Staying with that community, Delisle Bruins coach Jimmy Climenhaga won the award for Coach of the Year as the Bruins finished 10-7-0-1 this year, finishing third in the West Division and earning a first-round matchup against Dinsmore.
The award for Top Rookie was a tie this year, as Ethan Grabowski of Davidson and Jaydon Jessiman of Dinsmore shared the honour. Winning the Brad Barton Memorial Award was Eston player Cam Oliphant, and the Kyle Elks took the Best Team GAA award thanks to players Richard Palmer and Kyle Garland.
