ELBOW - An outdoor concert held in the lakeside village of Elbow recently ended up raising a tidy sum of money for the community's elevator.

Popular Saskatchewan musician and singer Jeffery Straker, touring on his Prairie Skyscraper concert series, performed in Elbow's community park on Saturday, June 15, alongside Regina guitarist Bryn Besse. The show brought out a sizable audience that set up their lawn chairs and enjoyed the show, even as a torrent of rainfall came down during the show's intermission, moving it into the gazebo of the park.

A portion of ticket sales and raffle proceeds from the event helped raise money for Elbow's very own 'prairie skyscraper'. With the exterior of the village's elevator deteriorating, residents say the structure has seen better days in its past.

The total funds raised amounted to $1,805. Organizers of the event thank local businesses and organizations for the draw prizes, local bakers for the cookies and pies, and the impressive number of people who attended the show to make it a successful event.
