BRODERICK - The RM of Rudy is alerting rural residents of the Outlook and Broderick areas, notifying them of upgrades that will be carried out to the Broderick reservoir system.

The work is expected to last approximately five weeks and may cause delays and road closures. A notice from the Water Security Agency (WSA) explains that they'll be completing upgrades to the embankments at Broderick North and West Dam, with site mobilization having started on October 7, and rip hauling starting on October 15 and continuing for an estimated four weeks.

The scope of the work includes supply and installation of rock rip rap at select locations above the water line, as well as drilling activities at Broderick West.

While the construction is underway, the WSA says there may be restrictions, delays or closures of the dam embankment roadway that connects Broderick North Dam to Range Road 3072.

Motorists are also being advised that signage announcing any closures will be placed well back from the work so that commuters can plan any alternative routes. As well, road closures will be communicated in advance to the local RM.
