Hockey players showcased talents in a one-day hockey day in Preeceville.

PREECEVILLE — The Preeceville Skating Arena was busy as hockey teams took their turns in action on Minor Hockey Day, Jan. 26.

The youngest team, the U7 group, was the first on the ice as they took on the Wadena Wildcats.

“There was no recorded score as at this age level we focus on fun, learning and building on the fundamental skills,” said coach Dean Serdachny.

The Preeceville U9 hockey team faced off against the Canora Cobras which ended in a 13-7 win for Canora.

The U11 team took on the Swan Valley Stampeders Number 2 team, with Swan Valley skating away with a 10-7 win.

The Preeceville U13 team faced off against Porcupine Plain, but there was no game sheet available at publication time.

The Highway 9 Predators U15 team won against Swan Valley with a 3-1 final score.

The Canora Cobras U18 hockey team took on Indian Head, which ended with a 6-3 Cobras win.

Both the Highway 9 Predators team and the U18 team are based out of Canora but have multiple players from Preeceville, Sturgis and the surrounding areas playing on both teams.

Multiple raffle winners were drawn throughout the day.
