YORKTON - A new court date has been set for a Cote First Nation man, charged with second-degree murder in the death of a toddler.
RCMP say the accused was known to the victim, 21-month-old Lorenzo Cote.
In November of 2020, emergency crews were called to a Canora home on a report of a toddler needing urgent medical care. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Waylon Severight, 26, was in Yorkton Court of King’s Bench on Sept. 27, where he was remanded in custody to Oct. 25.
