Man guilty of accessory after the fact sees new sentencing date

YORKTON - A new sentencing date has been set for a Keeseekoose First Nation man, who pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to murder, in relation to a death on the reserve.

In Yorkton Court of King’s Bench on Jan. 23, 22-year-old Telesphore Wapash had his matter adjourned to March 27.

In November of 2022, Kamsack RCMP were called to Keeseekoose, where they found a 16-year-old Cote First Nation boy dead at the scene.

Edgar Kakakaway Junior, 20, is charged with second-degree murder in relation to the death.
