Update: Second inmate who escaped from Yorkton correctional centre arrested

Both inmates who were at-large have now been arrested.

Update: The second inmate who escaped from a Yorkton correctional centre has been caught. Lloydminster RCMP found and arrested Brett Schnieder on Aug. 6. He is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster court on Aug. 7.

SASKATOON - Original post: One of two inmates who escaped from a Yorkton correctional centre on July 7 has been caught.

On July 15, Saskatoon Police arrested 22-year-old Chase Ahpay, who was wanted by Yorkton RCMP for being unlawfully at large.

He appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on July 16.

Mounties are still searching for 30-year-old Brett Schnieder, who is described as being five-feet-six-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown hair, green eyes and multiple tattoos, and when last seen, he was wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans.
