RCMP Investigates multiple fatalities in south Sask region

A 64-year-old male driver was taken to hospital and later declared deceased.

Yorkton Detachment

On June 18 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Yorkton RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway #47, south of Springside.

Yorkton RCMP officers, EMS, STARS and Springside Fire Department responded to the scene. The vehicle had three occupants, the driver and two passengers. 

The 64-year-old male driver was taken to hospital and later declared deceased. Two adult passengers were taken to hospital for further assessment.

Traffic restrictions were in place while an on-scene investigation was completed. The highway has since been re-opened.

Investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Sask RCMP Collision Reconstruction and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Gravelbourg Detachment

On June 18 at approximately 4:10 a.m., Gravelbourg RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway #58, south of Gravelbourg, SK.

Gravelbourg RCMP officers and EMS responded to the scene. One occupant of the vehicle, a 20-year-old male from Gravelbourg area, was declared deceased on scene. Two other vehicle occupants were taken to hospital for further assessment.

The road was blocked while an on-scene investigation was completed and has since re-opened.

Investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstruction and the Sask Coroners Service.
