RCMP’s Trafficking Response Team makes drug bust in Yorkton

Officers seized approximately $17,000 cash, a quantity of crack cocaine, and a quantity of powder cocaine.

YORKTON - Police seized cocaine and cash in a search at a Yorkton home.

On Sept. 12, at approximately 12:50 p.m. Yorkton RCMP’s Trafficking Response Team (STRT) executed a search warrant at a home on Dalebrooke Drive, as part of an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation. 

Officers arrested a man outside the residence and a woman inside.

Upon further investigation, officers seized approximately $17,000 cash, a quantity of crack cocaine, and a quantity of powder cocaine from the home.

As a result of the investigation,  a 39-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both from Yorkton, are charged with: possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

They made their first appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on Sept. 13.
