YORKTON – The Health Foundation announced Oct. 17 a donation of $10,000 from Scotiabank.

The donation is aimed at supporting the successful integration of 33 Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) recruited from the Philippines by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

The donation underscores Scotiabank’s commitment to community wellness and the vital role that healthcare professionals play in the province. With Saskatchewan facing a growing demand for healthcare services, the arrival of these IENs represents a significant step towards enhancing patient care.

“The support from Scotiabank is instrumental in helping us ensure that these nurses are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to provide high-quality care in our healthcare system,” said Dale Brock, Major Gifts Officer of the Health Foundation.

“We are grateful for their partnership and commitment to improving healthcare in Yorkton," added Brock.

Scotiabank’s support is a testament to the importance of collaboration in strengthening healthcare services in Yorkton. By investing in the future of these IENs, the Health Foundation and Scotiabank are not only enhancing individual careers but also contributing to the overall health and well-being of Yorkton and surrounding communities.
