YORKTON — Nearly 150 awards were distributed through the 2025 Suncrest College Scholarship Program, amounting to over $280,000.

The scholarships were presented during two special events: one in Tisdale on March 13 and the other in Yorkton, held this Tuesday. Awards ranged from $500 to $3,000, generously provided by donors from across the Suncrest College region.

"We are incredibly grateful to our generous donors whose support makes these scholarships possible," said Teri Thompson, Vice President of Academics & Learner Engagement at Suncrest College.

"Their contributions directly impact our students, helping to ease financial barriers and empowering them to focus on their education and future success," added Thompson.

Scholarships recognized students in various Suncrest College programs for their academic excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions to their communities.

The program owes its success to the support of numerous donors, including Rural Municipalities, local communities, corporations, nonprofits, and the Ministry of Advanced Education, which matches most private and public donations.

Looking ahead, Suncrest College is preparing for its Entrance Scholarship Awards for Fall 2025. Notably, a new $3,000 guaranteed entrance scholarship will be offered to eligible students with an average of 90 per cent or higher. Applications for additional scholarships are open until April 30 at SuncrestCollege.ca.
