YORKTON - The Battlefords North Stars visited the Yorkton Terriers Saturday.
The first period saw only one goal scored as Terrier Riley Cormier scored at the 6:47 mark to start the ledger at the Westland Insurance Arena.
The Terriers pulled ahead 2-0 in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League contest when Jaron Desnoyers scored a short-handed goal at 11:17 of the second period.
A powerplay goal by Anthony Campbell at 18:25 to put the Stars on the board and cut the Terrier lead in half.
Twenty-three seconds later the contest was knotted tied 2-2 thanks to Nikita Ivashchenko.
The game looked headed to overtime until Harrison Aldridge scored at 16:16 of the third to take a late lead.
Desnoyers added an empty-net effort in the final minute of play to round out a 4-2 home-side win.
Callum Creig was in net for the Terriers for the win facing 25-shots, while Justen Maric took the loss allowing three goals on 24-shots.
The Terriers are back in action hosting Notre Dame Sunday (Feb.9).
