YORKTON - With three straight losses to atone for the Yorkton Terriers took to home ice Sunday afternoon hosting Battlefords.
The North Stars started the ledger in the SJHL hook-up as Gavin Granger scored 8:34 into the opening period.
Keenan Ingram responded for the Terriers at 13:46 and things were knotted 1-1 headed to the Westland Insurance Arena dressing rooms after 20-minutes of play.
The middle period saw a deluge of goals starting with four straight even strength efforts by the home side. William Leonard, Ingram with his second of the game and 25th of the season, David Coyle and Tate Schofer were the Terriers marksmen.
Treycen Wuttunee and Jace Rask tallied late second period goals for the Stars leaving it a 5-3 Terrier lead after 40-minutes of action.
The goals kept piling up in the third period.
Dustin Renas scored 45-seconds in for Yorkton.
Elijah Anderson responded with a powerplay goal for the North Stars at 2:12.
The Yorkton powerplay replied as Coyle scored with the man advantage at 3:54.
Wuttunee added a Battlefords’ goal at 6:11 and it was a 7-5 score.
Ingram then completed his hat trick at 13:15, with Riley Cormier adding one at 13:30 and the Terriers were up 9-5.
Then with only six seconds left in the game Bryce Dahl added one more for the Terriers completing a 10-5 contest.
Ethan Farrow was in net for Yorkton facing 31-shots for the win.
Justen Maric patrolled the crease for Battlefords as he was peppered with 53-shots in the loss.
The Terriers now sit with a record of 22-12-1-0 for 45 points and top spot in the SJHL Viterra Division, one point better than Weyburn with 44 points. Melville sits third with 35 and Estevan fourth with 26.
Next up for the Terriers will be a home game hosting Melfort Friday, then a road visit Canora to play Notre Dame Saturday.
