YORKTON - The Yorkton Threshermen's Club Inc. held a building bee of sorts Saturday.

Ten club members and friends gathered in a farm shop southwest of Willowbrook where they collectively turned a bundle of lumber and a bucket of screws into a new wagon rack.

Club member Matthew Weber explained the new rack will be used to haul sheaves during the annual Threshermen’s Show & Seniors Festival – scheduled for Aug. 2-3, this year – and can also be used to provide rides for people around the Western Development Museum grounds in Yorkton.

The ‘rack’ will be initially mounted on wheels donated by Brian Berrns, but can also be transferred to sleigh runners, said Weber.

The material for the build – about $1,000 value – was donated by McMunn & Yates in Yorkton.
