YORKTON – The city has been recognized for its vibrant cultural scene, ranking 4th across the country in the Towns and Rural Areas category for Culture Days 2024.

The city hosted over 50 separate arts and culture events organized by more than 35 local artists and arts and culture organizations during Culture Days, according to a release from the City of Yorkton.

"Awareness of Culture Days and the importance of arts and culture in our community has continued to grow each year due to the dedicated support and efforts of the many Culture Days event organizers," said Angelina Kardynal, Yorkton's Culture Days Coordinator.

"These dedicated local artists and administrators plan and share interactive hands-on and behind-the-scenes programming that continues to engage and inspire our community to join in the three-week celebration," added Kardynal.

Kardynal also encouraged more local arts and culture organizations to participate in future events.

"We would love to see more of our local arts and culture organizations take advantage of this opportunity to showcase the programming they are coordinating throughout the year," said Kardynal, adding, "the benefit to participation as an event organizer is the gain of additional exposure to new audiences."

Kardynal encouraged the community to support local artists and organizations year-round.

"Mark your calendars now for Culture Days 2025 which will take place from Sept. 19th through Oct. 12th," added Kardynal.

Information about Culture Days Yorkton 2025 will be available early in the new year. In the meantime, if groups or individuals are interested in finding out more or have a great idea to discuss, Kardynal said Yorkton Culture Days would be happy to hear from them.
