YORKTON – The 2024 Yorkton Sports Hall of Fame Inductions and 30th Anniversary Celebrations were held at the Gallagher Centre Sept. 7.
Inductions included Lori Pollock in the athlete/builder category for synchronized swimming, Michael Forster in the athlete/builder category for martial arts, Nicole Nagy in the athlete category for figure skating, Ed Zawatsky in the athlete/builder category for hockey and the 1998 Yorkton Expos Midget Baseball team.
Guest speaker for the evening was former Detroit Red Wing, Dennis Polonich. Polonich spoke at length about his career in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings and his time with the Yorkton Terriers after having retired from professional hockey in 1987. Polonich spent six seasons with the Terriers.
Also in attendance were several past inductees of the Yorkton Sports Hall of Fame to celebrate thirty years of the organization.
