MEADOW LAKE – A Buffalo River Dene Nation man charged with second-degree murder in the death of 55-year-old Nathan George Bekkattla was back in court May 1 and the matter was adjourned.
Nathan Billette, 41, is now scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on May 15 to speak to his matter.
Billette was charged after Dillon RCMP got a report of an injured person at a home on Buffalo River Dene Nation at about 6:40 a.m. on Sept. 13, 2023. Police say an altercation occurred between two men.
EMS declared Bekkatla deceased at the scene.
