LLOYDMINSTER – Three people were arrested after Battlefords RCMP alerted Lloydminster RCMP that a vehicle with a stolen plate driving at a high rate of speed was headed towards Lloydminster.

A short time later, a high-risk traffic stop was conducted by Lloydminster RCMP general duty officer, the General Investigation Section (GIS) and Lloydminster RCMP Police Dog Services.

Lloydminster RCMP say the vehicle was stolen out of Edmonton. In it, they located a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, 2.66 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, and a small amount of fentanyl.

Police arrested Brett Edwin Worm, 30, from Saskatoon, Ruben Almenares Strongquill, 38, and Janeen Lilian Bereti Moody, 34, both of Edmonton.

Worm faces 16 charges, Strongquill 13 charges, and Bereti-Moody seven charges. The charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking, weapons-related offences, possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime, and failing to comply with release conditions.

All three were remanded in custody and appear in Lloydminster court March 16.
