Demolition work was happening this week at a location of a fire on 102nd Street. The same location was subject to a suspicious death investigation in March.

NORTH BATTLEFORD — The location of an overnight fire in North Battleford was also the location of a suspicious death earlier this year.

On March 13, 2022, Battlefords RCMP responded to a request for police assistance on 1600 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford.

When police officers arrived, police found David Lapointe, 61, deceased. A suspicious death investigation was then launched.

That same location was one of two houses destroyed in an overnight fire Sept. 21, the other being on the 1400 block of 101st Street. Both houses were ordered to be demolished on Thursday.
