DESCHAMBAULT LAKE – A 17-year-old youth from Deschambault Lake. has been found deceased and RCMP arrested a female youth.
On Oct. 1, at approximately 11:15 p.m., police received a report of an injured person on a street in Deschambault Lake. Officers immediately responded and found the youth deceased. His family has been notified and victim services made available to them.
As a result of initial investigation, Deschambault Lake RCMP went to a home in the community and arrested the female youth and charged her with second-degree murder. She is scheduled to appear in court in Deschambault Lake on Oct. 4.
A man was also arrested on warrants from Deschambault Lake for charges including assault with a weapon. The adult male was suffering from injuries from a separate assault, which is now under investigation by the Deschambault Lake RCMP, and was taken to hospital with serious injuries described.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took over the investigation into the 17-year-old’s death.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Deschambault Lake on October 4, 2023.
Major Crimes continues to investigate and additional charges are pending.
