REGINA — An inquest into the death of Haven Dubois has been scheduled to happen late next month.

The 14-year-old was discovered unresponsive in a creek in the east end of Regina in May 2015. A bystander and EMS attempted resuscitation efforts; however, Dubois was pronounced dead at the Regina General Hospital.

The first day of the inquest begins at 10 a.m. at the Royal Hotel and will last from May 27 to May 31 in Regina.

The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is responsible for investigating all sudden, unexpected deaths.

An inquest aims to establish who died, when and where that person died, and the medical cause and manner of death.

The coroner’s jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths.
