Jennifer Hendry's accused killer headed to trial in La Ronge court

Jennifer Hendry was well-known in Air Ronge and La Ronge where she worked as an instructor at Northlands College, and then with the La Ronge RCMP, and Saskatchewan Health Authority.

LA RONGE – A trial will be held in La Ronge Provincial Court in May for a teen charged with first-degree murder in Jennifer Hendry’s death.

Hendry’s body was found in her home on Waco Drive in Air Ronge Jan. 8, 2022.  

On Jan. 10, 2022, La Ronge RCMP released video and photo of a suspect and appealed to the public for help. Days later police arrested the youth, who can’t be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was also charged with robbery. Police say the youth and Hendry weren’t known to each other.

Hendry was well-known in the communities of Air Ronge and La Ronge where she lived for almost 20 years, first as an instructor at Northlands College, and more recently with the La Ronge RCMP and Saskatchewan Health Authority, according to her obituary.
