LA RONGE – Three people were arrested and police seized prohibited weapons and drugs following a house fire in Air Ronge on Jan. 9.
Scott Boehr, 32, from Southend, and Kaydence Charles,19, from La Ronge, are each charged with eight weapons-related offences, including possession of a prohibited firearm, and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Boehr and Charles also face four and three charges, respectively, of failing to comply with release order conditions.
Boehr and Charles appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court Jan. 11. Boehr was remanded in custody until his next appearance on Jan. 25. Charles was remanded in custody and has a bail hearing scheduled for Jan. 22.
A young offender was also arrested. He can’t be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The charges stem from a house fire on Chief James Roberts Street in Air Ronge at about 2:50 p.m. on Jan. 9. La Ronge RCMP had responded and assisted La Ronge Regional Fire Department at the scene. The emergency personnel at the scene had observed illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia in the home.
Police located 51 grams of fentanyl, 138 grams of an unknown substance, 13 grams methamphetamine, a sawed-off rifle, a rifle, ammunition, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.
