SASKATOON – Police have made a big break in the continued investigation into the murder of a 30 year-old Métis woman. On Jan. 4, they located and arrested Summer-Sky Henry, 24, who has been charged with first the degree murder of Megan Gallagher.
“Summer-Sky Henry is the last person wanted in connection to the investigation and investigators believe that they have identified everyone involved,” said SPS in a media release. “However, [we] will continue to accept any information believed to be relevant to the investigation.”
In total, nine people have been charged in relation to Gallagher’s murder.
Henry also faces many charges unrelated to the murder, including robbery, unlawful confinement, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, possession for the purpose of trafficking, aggravated assault and robbery with violence. Henry was also wanted by both the SPS and RCMP for failure to comply with a release order. She appeared in court on the morning of Jan. 5.
Gallagher was last seen alive on Sept. 20, 2020 at a Circle K convenience store on Diefenbaker Drive. Two years later, SPS discovered human remains along the South Saskatchewan River near St. Louis.
