Man charged in Saturday's homicide makes first court appearance

A man was shot and killed in Saskatoon's west end Saturday morning.

SASKATOON – A 21-year-old man facing a murder charge in the death of a 48-year-old man in Saskatoon on Saturday made his first appearance in court Monday.

Katlim Kristian John Desjarlais-Kelly was remanded in custody and appears again in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Feb. 15.

The 48-year-old man was shot and killed at a home in the 200 block of Avenue K North Saturday. Police had responded at about 6:46 a.m., Feb. 10. Police say the victim and the accused were known to each other.

This was the city’s second homicide of 2024.
