Man charged with drug offences, impaired driving after collision

The 25-year-old man makes his first appearance in Kindersley Circuit Court on Dec. 19.

On Nov. 5, 2023, at approximately 5:50 a.m., Kindersley RCMP had received a report of the two-vehicle collision on Ditson Drive in Kindersley involving a car and a truck. RCMP, along with Kindersley Fire Department and local EMS responded.

KINDERSLEY – RCMP have charged a 25-year-old man in connection to a two-vehicle collision last month. Austin Heid, 25, from Kindersley will make his first appearance in Kindersley Circuit Court on Dec. 19.

Heid is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, driving while impaired causing bodily harm, failure to comply with demand causing bodily harm, failure to stop after accident resulting in bodily harm, and driving without registration or a valid license.

On Nov. 5, 2023, at approximately 5:50 a.m., Kindersley RCMP had received a report of the two-vehicle collision on Ditson Drive involving a car and truck. RCMP, along with Kindersley Fire Department and local EMS, responded.

The adult male driver of the car, who initially left the scene of the collision, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The adult female passenger of the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

Responding officers located and seized approximately 79 grams of methamphetamine, approximately five grams of cocaine, and a sum of cash in the car.

The adult driver of the truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist also attended the scene to investigate further.

Kindersley RCMP say their investigation is ongoing.
