BATTLEFORDS – The North Battleford RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) asks the public to report sightings of Tyler Daniels who is accused of ramming a police vehicle, driving straight towards an officer, and fleeing from police.
Officers from the North Battleford RCMP CRT have been working in the Prince Albert RCMP detachment area, as part of an ongoing investigation and at about 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 18 they tried to stop a vehicle on Sturgeon Lake First Nation. The RCMP investigation had determined the vehicle was reported as stolen from Christopher Lake on Sept. 1. The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop.
At about 8 p.m., officers located the vehicle parked outside a home in the Lac La Ronge Indian Band community of Little Red River. They pulled a police vehicle behind it and one officer approached the vehicle. The vehicle reversed, ramming the police vehicle. The vehicle then drove forward toward the officer who was on foot, who had to jump out of the way to safety. The vehicle then fled. Neither officer was physically injured. The police vehicle sustained heavy damage.
Daniels, 27, from Little Red River is charged with two counts each of dangerous driving, flight from a peace officer, and assault on a police officer with a weapon. He is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, mischief over $5,000, and driving while prohibited.
Daniels is approximately 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos, including praying hands, and the words ‘Daniels’ and “family” on his right forearm.
If you see Tyler Daniels, do not approach him. Report sightings and information to your local police of jurisdiction immediately. Dial 310-RCMP to reach your local RCMP detachment.
