New Regina Chief of Police sworn in

Farooq Hassan Sheikh comes to the Regina Police Service most recently from the Alberta Sheriff’s Service.

REGINA – The city’s 15th Chief of Police for Regina Police Service was sworn in Friday.

Sask. Associate Chief Justice Michael Tochor administered the Oath of Office to Farooq Hassan Sheikh at the ceremony on Dec. 1. Chair of the Board of Police Commissioners, Jada Yee, presented the Chief with his badge.

Chief Sheikh comes to the Regina Police Service, most recently, from the Alberta Sheriff’s Service. His 31-years of diverse law enforcement experience from across the world, including almost five years policing in Canada. A ceremony with the larger community and the media will take place early in the New Year.
