Police investigating death of Lee Bearsears on Poundmaker FN

POUNDMAKER FIRST NATION – RCMP Major Crimes has taken over an investigation into a suspicious death of 31-year-old Lee Bearsears on Poundmaker First Nation.

On Oct. 16, at about 4 p.m., Cut Knife RCMP got a call about a deceased person in a rural area near the First Nation.

Police say Bearsears is from Little Pine First Nation and his family have been notified.

RCMP Major Crimes say they continue to work diligently to determine the circumstances leading to Lee's death, which investigators have determined is suspicious in nature.

There is currently an increased police presence on Poundmaker First Nation and Little Pine First Nation in relation to this ongoing investigation.
