Regina duo arrested on numerous drugs and firearms charges

Police seize significant amount of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and alprazolam

REGINA – A trespassing call led to numerous drugs and firearms charges for a man and a teen.

Police were called to the 3000 block of Dewdney Avenue March 18 for a property check.

“Information received was that a male was trespassing on a rental property,” said RPS in a media release. “Police entered the location and found both a 27 year-old male and a 17 year-old male inside, with numerous drugs and firearms in plain sight.”

The pair were arrested and charged with police seizing the drugs, firearms and ammunition.

“A search warrant was executed on the residence, and further firearm ammunition and a substance believed to be methamphetamine were located,” RPS said.

Hayden Alexzander Thompson, 27, was charged with three counts possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine, fentanyl, and alprazolam); two counts each careless use of a firearm/ammunition, possess firearm known its possession is unauthorized; and single counts possession of a loaded or restricted firearm, possession of a restricted weapon with ammunition, possession of a restricted weapon obtained by crime, and possession of property obtained by crime.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with six counts possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to a prohibition order; three counts each possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine, fentanyl, and alprazolam); two counts each careless use of a firearm/ammunition, and possess firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; and single counts possession of a loaded or restricted firearm, possession of a restricted weapon obtained by crime, possession of a restricted weapon with ammunition, and fail to comply with disposition.

Both accused appeared in court on March 20.
