SASKATOON - A 29-year-old man has been charged with 29 arsons in 10 days in the city.
Mitchell Edgar Isley will make his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court Tuesday afternoon on arson charges.
The Saskatoon Police Service General Investigations Section arrested him. They say the separate fires occurred between Feb. 20 and March 1, with most of the damage taking place in the north end of the city.
The fires consisted of garbage/recycling bins being set on fire and left to burn. Fortunately, community members reported the fires in a timely manner, which prevented anyone from being injured and property from being damaged further. The SPS wishes to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance in these matters.
If you have any information on suspicious fires around our city, please call SPS at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
