SASKATOON – A man charged with second-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Emily Claire Sanche will stand trial in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench. A trial date will be set.

Thomas Hamp, 25, is accused of stabbing Sanche. Saskatoon Police say they responded to a report of a stabbing on Feb. 20 in the 2700 block of Main Street East where they found two people with stab wounds. Sanche later died of her injuries.

Police initially charged Hamp with aggravated assault but the charge was upgraded to second-degree murder.
