SASKATOON - A 15-year member of the Saskatoon Police Service appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on June 22 charged with common assault following an on-duty altercation.
Constable Jody Levesque was responding to a reported stabbing on May 4, 2022, when he located a suspect near the location of the incident. The suspect alleges an assault occurred during the arrest. A public complaint was later made and lead to the charge against the constable. The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and breach of court conditions as a result of the stabbing incident.
The officer is currently assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of court proceedings and an administrative review under The Police Act.
