Tires slashed on at least 18 vehicles, Saskatoon police investigating

SASKATOON - Two youth were arrested Thursday morning following a series of mischief in areas near the University of Saskatchewan.

In the early morning hours of Jan. 26, police responded to the 1000 block of Colony Street for a report of persons vandalizing vehicles. When police arrived, two male youths were located and arrested nearby. They were found to be in possession of bladed weapons, say police. A search of the area identified at least 18 vehicles with punctured tires and police believe there may be more.

As a result, two 15-year-old males from Saskatoon have been charged with 18 counts of willful damage to property and weapons-related offences.

Police are encouraging residents in the area bordered by Saskatchewan Crescent East, College Drive, Cumberland Avenue South, and 14th Street East to inspect their vehicles for vandalism.
