LITTLE MANITOU LAKE – Update July 1: Wakaw RCMP say the missing adult male kayaker they have been searching for has been located safe.
Watrous RCMP thanks area residents, Humboldt Fire Department, Saskatoon Police Service’s Air Support Unit, SARSAV, Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, and the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) for their assistance in this search.
Original post June 26: Watrous RCMP are searching for an overdue kayaker after receiving a report at about 6 p.m. on Monday.
The kayaker, an adult man, told his family he was going kayaking on Little Manitou Lake at approximately 10 a.m. on June 26. They called police when he didn’t return as expected.
Watrous RCMP have been searching the water and shore for him since, with the assistance of area residents, Humboldt Fire Department, Saskatoon Police Service’s Air Support Unit and the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association [CASARA].
The kayak was recovered and police continue to search for the man.
