ROSE VALLEY - Chris Beaudry, Sask Party candidate has won the Kelvington-Wadena constituency with a wide margin of 4,847 votes. NDP candidate, Lorne Schroeder had 1,656 votes in the unofficial tally. Sask United had 809 and the Green Party had 123 at the end of the night.
Beaudry and his family and supporters were gathered in Rose Valley the evening of the election. When announced as winner, his crowd cheered and hugs and handshakes were shared all around. Beaudry will be replacing Hugh Nerlien who has been the MLA in the riding since April 4, 2016.
Beaudry said to SaskToday.ca, "I'm happy but still nervous about the elections in the cities. I'm proud of my team, everyone worked hard and the kids have been loving it tonight. We are ready to get down to Regina now and make things happen."
