HUDSON BAY – CJ Binkley of Hudson Bay has been named the Sask NDP candidate for the Carrot River Valley constituency.
Binkley lives in Hudson Bay. Originally from Edmonton,Alta., she moved to Hudson Bay 11 years ago when she met her now late husband, Jessie. Binkley says she immediately fell in love with Saskatchewan.
“Its beautiful scenery and amazing people made me feel welcome and I can't imagine living anywhere else. Even though I lost my best friend last year in January of 2023 unexpectedly. I still love living here.”
She is currently working as an education associate with Northeast School Division at Porcupine Plain Comprehensive School in Porcupine Plain.
Binkley would be in her fourth year as an E.A. She also worked in retail sales for over 20 years and enjoys working with people. Binkley is also a makeup artist and cosmetician.
Binkley says education is one topic she’s passionate about. She feels that parents shouldn't have to choose between paying their rent or feeding their kids and the cost of living is “atrocious." She also feels health care is inaccessible to those who need it most.
